To cultivate respect for Afrikaans as a mother tongue language and at the same time integrate Afrikaans with other languages, the SBA has created four multilingual idiom books incorporating the four natural elements.

The native languages’ harmonious relationship with nature is strengthened by the idioms and proverbs about water, earth, fire and air.
