Nicolette Pottas

Parents often have a hard time keeping their teens away from their cell phones and social media, but this time both were harnessed for a good cause.
The SBA’s Facebook page flourished with beautiful photos of nature and funny depictions of idioms.
Numerous learners from as far as Upington, North West, and Gqeberha entered the SBA’s photo competition. To be able to participate in the competition, the learners had to be in Grades 8 and 9. They then had to select and depict any idiom from ” We all walk on the same earth ” and take a picture of the depiction. After that, they had to upload the photo on Facebook and tag the SBA in the entry .
The photo entry with the most likesis the winner of the competition. In this case, it was Nicolette Pottas.

Nicolette is a Grade 9 learner at DF Malherbe High School in Gqeberha.
The idiom she portrayed was: to roll a stone for someone out of the way.
There were 14 other entries that did very well.

Two of the other idioms that attracted a lot of attention in addition to Nicolette’s idiom are one by Sonell du Preez, a Grade 9 learner from Wesvalia High School in North-West and one by Tyra Josephs, a Grade 9 learner. of Saxonsea Secondary in Atlantis.

Sonell’s photo is the depiction of: ” putting on a ground jacket ” while Tyra’s photo depicts that every dark cloud has a silver lining.

The SBA is incredibly proud of everyone who entered.
Please keep an eye on our social media for more competitions and great prizes!
